Marketstreet Enterprises is a privately held, multifaceted investment firm that is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.  The firm was founded by J. Stephen Turner, in 2000, and he has as his partners in this venture his son Jay Turner and his business associate Joe Barker.  Steve's interest in the development and re-vitalization of the urban environment of Nashville first led him to invest The Gulch Project where the ICON project is located.  Under his guidance the firm became identified as the leader in promoting the downtown of Nashville as a mixed used, mixed income neighborhood that would be developed along the lines of "New Urbanism".  Early on it formed a strong partnership with the Metropolitan government of Nashville, and Davidson County in this effort, and this partnership has permitted a re-awakening of The Gulch to occur for used that have only been dreamed for years.  To be able to live, to work and to play in The Gulch is now a reality.

While the firm is involved in projects that now are international in nature, it's main focus is the development and promotion of The Gulch and other ares os Nashville's urban core.  The firm was appointed as the designated re-developer of The Gulch area by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency in 2001, and has assembled over 30 acres of land in the and around The Gulch and has developed over 150,000 sq. feet of commercial office space,  numerous residential units alone and in concert with Nashville Housing Fund, and over 50,000 sq. feet of retail and restaurant space that have now become the most sought after night spots in Nashville.

The firm strongly supports the work of a variety of downtown organizations with the time and money of its partners who serve in leadership roles for the Civic Design center, the Downtown Partnership, the Central Business Improvement District, the Nashville Sports Authority, the Frist Center for the Visual arts, the Symphony Hall Project, the Adventure Science Center, the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Nashville Opera and the Nashville Library Foundation among others.
